Man lives in tree after domestic spat

Boy, I thought I thought it was rough to have to sleep on the couch! This poor chap got into an argument with his wife and ended up living in a tree for 15 years!

Not much is worse than a woman scorned!

Northern Michigan's "Dogman"

Legend in Michigan tells of this bizarre wolf-like creature that is said to appear in Northern Michigan on July 7th of the 7th year of each decade. It has been a frightening part of local folklore for years.

I know a man whose life was forever changed by his encounter with this mysterious creature. He was out for a walk in the woods near Frankfort, Michigan when he encountered a huge dog. He ran in terror when it reared up on its hind legs and he saw its "evil eyes and the hint of a grin."

Beware the Dogman!

If you want a copy of the Dogman Song, CDs can be purchased for 5 dollars each from WTCM Radio, P.O. Box 472, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684 - the price includes postage to the USA.

The profits are donated to local animal rescue groups.

The 10 Most Puzzling Ancient Artifacts

This is a countdown of the top ten puzzling ancient artifacts ever found. Most of this stuff is bupkis, but there are a couple of really weird ones. I personally enjoy the Antikythera Mechanism from 1900 and the Dropa Stones found in 1938.

Left is a picture of the "Dropa" people who came from the stars with their strange disks and forbidden knowledge. You can read all about the disks they brought on this very good page.

Alex Jones is my neighbor!

I just thought I would let everyone know that I just did a search for "micro flying spy drone" and my beloved Doctor Fong's House of Mysteries showed up just above the Alex Jones' site.

I find that really funny for some reason.

Quonset Huts!

I have a strange untraceable passion for Quonset Huts! For those of you who don't know, "a Quonset hut is a lightweight prefabricated structure of corrugated steel having a semicircular cross section. The sides were corrugated steel sheets. The two ends were covered with plywood, which had doors and windows. The interior was insulated and had pressed wood lining and a wood floor."

There are a number of these buildings for sale near my hometown. I wish I had money. It would be a dream come true to own one of these interesting buildings. Imagine the sound of rain beating down on your very own corrugated roof...

The Evil Eye

"The head of one of the key departments in a Moscow research institute suddenly died. The man was known for his trouble-making nature and lack of respect towards colleagues and subordinates. One day, the boss advanced some harsh and insulting remark in the address of a subordinate. The latter said nothing but his glance was so sinister that the boss suddenly dropped the head on the desk and began to rattle. He died soon after."

Well I can explain it. This is a sure case of "the Evil Eye", a wizard trick from days long past! Ahhh, the old stink eye! A glare so withering it can kill! I am sure we will see more of this type of sorcery as we move toward 2012.

Human eyes possess destructive power of laser

Can someone explain this please?

I found this picture with a google search for "wolf girl". I read a strange story about a small girl who had been raised by wolves. Does anyone know the story behind this picture? I'm very confused and more than slightly disturbed by this. Could this be an actual picture of the wolf girl?

Thermite burning a hole in a car

"A thermite reaction (a type of aluminothermic reaction) is one in which aluminium metal is oxidized by an oxide of another metal, most commonly iron oxide. (The name thermite is also used to refer to a mixture of two such chemicals.) The products are aluminium oxide, free elemental metal and a great deal of heat. The reactants are commonly powdered and mixed with a binder to keep the material solid and prevent separation."

William Shatner sells kidney stone

"Star Trek actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000 to an online casino, to raise money for a housing charity.

The 74-year-old actor agreed on Monday to sell the stone to

"This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?" said Shatner."

Strange Fish Not Strange At All - Just Ugly

The fish that I wrote about earler this week turned out to be nothing strange. After looking into it, I believe it to be a Rat-Tail, a type of deep ocean fish. This one is a little bloated up from being on the beach but other than that the similarities are evident. Why the pictures from earlier this week are in black and white is the most confusing thing to me.

The Prejudice Map

Make sure to look at this map of what, according to Google, people in the world are known for... According to this map, people in Iraq are known for their spontaneity, their ability to defy danger and their love of revenge. Uh oh! I think America is in for more than they bargained for.

Strange New Fish in Cayman Islands

"A strange looking sea creature washed up on the shores of Cayman Brac this weekend. Layman Scott found the fish while walking along the beach early Sunday morning. It is roughly thirty inches long, more than half of which is a long, eel-like tail attached to a fish body. It has pale pink scales, pectoral fins, a dorsal fin and a small feathery fin on its belly."

I'm not so sure about this one... Why are the only photos of this in black and white? The only reason I can see to remove visual information (i.e. color) from a photo like this would be to try to hide something.

New Species of Fish?

I don't think so here's my solution.

DANGER Flying Objects!

"Once you've been in the MRI field for any length of time, you start hearing all of the various horror stories about things that have flown into a scanner. Often, newcomers don't take the real danger of flying objects seriously until they witness an oxygen tank or gurney flying into a magnet themselves."

This is a great page full of pictures of metal objects that have flown into MRI machines! When they say "Danger, flying objects" they aren't kidding! Some very funny and alarming pictures.

Taiwan breeds green-glowing pigs

"Scientists in Taiwan say they have bred three pigs that glow in the dark."

"They are the only ones that are green from the inside out. Even their heart and internal organs are green, they say."

"The pigs are transgenic, created by adding genetic material from jellyfish into a normal pig embryo."

Um, why are we making glowing pigs? I mean, it's kinda cool sciencewise, but why? Did we need glowing pigs for something? Another question: do they still glow after they are dead? Will we have glowing bacon and chops?

One-Eyed Cyclops Kitten

Rejoice! A strange one-eyed cat has been born! This surely heralds a new age of strangeness for the planet Earth. Along with white buffalo, the one-eyed cat has been known throughout time as a omen signifying great change in the near future and a shifting of global powers. This cyclops cat may be just the thing to push us into a future of infinite novelty

It also has no nose.
I'm not exactly sure what that means...

Help NASA with Stardust@Home

Let's all do our part to help NASA search for tiny grains of Stardust collected by one of their probes. Right now you can pre-register and if you pass a test you can download the software that you can use to help them. This is the same idea as Seti@Home. Many people each doing a small amount of work adds up to thousands of man-hours.

Profile of a Madman

Subject: Evan Colby
Occupation: Student
Mania: Maniac

I was fortunate enough to be able to go on a trip around town with local madman, Evan Colby. Along the way he drove like a psycho and even smashed his car into a concrete post a couple times for fun. I was able to get some video of him doing it. I thought that I would share it for your enjoyment...

He loves to drive his car.

Mummified body found in front of TV

"The mummified body of a woman who didn't want to be buried was found in a chair in front of her television set 2 1/2 years after her death, authorities said."

Ahhhhhhhh, in front of the TV for all eternity! Why would anyone want to do this? I guess this woman though she would be coming back to use her body. Once I'm gone I don't think I will be too concerned about my body. - Mummified body found in front of TV - Jan 10, 2006

Nation's libraries have books bound in human skin

"A number of prestigious libraries -- including Harvard University's -- have such books in their collections. While the idea of making leather from human skin seems bizarre and cruel today, it was not uncommon in centuries past, said Laura Hartman, a rare book cataloger at the National Library of Medicine in Maryland and author of a paper on the subject."

"In the past the best libraries belonged to private collectors. Some were doctors who had access to skin from amputated parts and patients whose bodies were not claimed. They found human leather to be relatively cheap, durable and waterproof, Hartman said."

Free alcohol makes homeless healthier, safer

"Giving homeless alcoholics a regular supply of booze may improve their health and their behaviour, the Canadian Medical Association Journal said in a study published today."

Probably makes them happier too... I mean hey, free booze!

One part that I found troubling was that "Three of the 17 participants died during the program, succumbing to alcohol-related illnesses that might have killed them anyway."

Hmmm. I wonder if giving them 15 drinks a day may have helped that along.

Two-headed snake up for auction

An American aquarium says it intends to auction a rare two-headed albino rat snake for $150,000.

"It's an amazing snake," Mr Sonnenschein told the Associated Press news agency. "When people see it they are awe-struck."

If anyone has been trying to think of a late Christmas present for their favorite Doctor, look no further! The price is a bit steep, but I would take wonderful care of him. He could come and live with all of my other mutated pets, like my chicken with nine wings, or my platypus with an extra nostril.

Shake-Free Version of the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot Footage

For your viewing pleasure here is a brand new shake-free version of the Patterson-Gimlin bigfoot footage from the 1960s. The original footage is so shaky that it is really hard to get a good look. After all these years it still looks like a man in a furry suit to me. It even walks like a man! You would think that with all the camera phones floating around out there we could get a better clip than just a revamped one from the 1960s. Where are you Bigfoot! Why have you left us in our moment of greatest need!

Startling New Theory on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln!

Nothing is ever as simple as it appears. New data suggests Abraham Lincoln was actually shot simultaneously by five separate assailants!

John Wilkes Booth you have heard of, but history has mostly forgotten John T. Pepperpot, the jealous aristocrat in love with Mary Todd Lincoln. He would do anything to get Abe out of the way. He fired at Lincoln from the box across the stage.

Have you ever heard of Willard J. Willard, an actor rebuffed by Lincoln right before the opening act. He was heard to exclaim, "I'll get you for this Abe!" He fired from the side stage area.

What of Humphrey, a former domestic, now jobless in post-war America. He blamed Lincoln for the loss of his job and for his wife leaving him for another man. His shot came from the rigging above the stage

Few know the story of Sherman Sprague, a simpleton. He believed Lincoln had been sending him encrypted postcards containing lewd messages for years. When his mother finally died in 1864 he went over the edge. When he went to confront Lincoln his pistol misfired, and sent a bullet swerving wildly toward Lincoln.
