This recession ain't so bad... yet

Dr. Fong Says:
I'll start to worry when we have to butcher horses in the streets to survive!

"Ohne Fleischmarken: Von den spartakisten im strassenkampf erschossenes pferd wird von der armen bevolkerung ausgeschnitten."

Translates to: "Without meat-tokens: a horse shot in a streetfight by spartacists is being butchered by the poor populace."

This is a photo taken during the German inflationary period. There was no food so the people are butchering a horse that died in the street to eat. People are standing around it with knives waiting their turn to carve off a piece for their starving families.

If anyone can read German cursive I would love to know what it says on the back of this postcard. Please post a translation in the comments if you can make it out. You should be able to make it out better if you click on the image to enlarge it.

This sort of thing happening in a once prosperous nation can easily ignite the flames of war.

There are always a certain group of people to blame for the downfall of economies, and once the people notice that they have been screwed, they lash out at this common enemy.

Coming soon to the USA and some other "Western" nations.

I'll see you around the horse carcass.

Correcting the Google-translation: "Without meat-tokens: a horse shot in a streetfight by spartacists is being butchered by the poor populace."
